For my piano students, I enjoy breaking down the “hard parts” of a new song into smaller more manageable sections, often just to measure/just a few notes. The section of music is circled, colorfully. For younger kids, the section becomes an imaginative creation, such as the “hot chocolate lake”. This music now becomes fun and friendly, as the student learns, with me, to play the notes in the hot chocolate lake. The student leaves feeling very confident! 🩵🎹
